The countdown begins to the City of Sydney's annual Living in Harmony Festival. This is your opportunity to celebrate our city's cultural diversity and multicultural heritage.

People Just Like Us Wednesday 2 March, 6pm–8pm Barnet Long Room, Customs House, Circular Quay An evening about the experiences of people seeking asylum in Australia, featuring personal stories and cultural performances.
Comedy vs Racism (stand-up comedy evening) Tuesday 8 March, 7pm–8pm Sydney Lower Town Hall, Sydney A comedy event full of hilarious observations on racism.
justsayhisydney Event Launch Saturday 12 March, 6pm–8pm Beats Eats Drinks, 36 Glebe Point Road, Glebe Launch of moving documentary film featuring our local Sydney groups, a sound-score by Sydney Choirs and the public, depicting how social connectedness generates a positive, emotional and physical wellbeing no matter who you are.
Breaking Bread Thursday 10 March, 6pm–8pm Friday 11 March, 11am–3pm Saturday 12 March, 11am–2pm Redfern Community Centre, 29-53 Hugo Street, Redfern An evening of discussion, damper and Jewish challah-bread making workshops.
Thailand Grand Festival Saturday 12 March 11am–8pm Sunday 13 March 11am–8pm Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour In its ninth year, this festival showcases delights from Thailand – food stalls, products, massage, cooking demonstrations and performance troupes.
Harmony Football Friday 18 March, 11am–4pm King George V Recreation Centre, 3 Cumberland Street, The Rocks Join us as people from all walks of life come together to play football.
Aspire to Harmony in Green Square Saturday 19 March, 11am–2pm Joynton Park, Zetland Diverse communities from Green Square, Redfern, Waterloo, Zetland, Beaconsfield and Rosebery will come together to share their cultural traditions and aspirations through a variety of engaging and fun experiences and activities, including arts and crafts, performance, music, origami and more. Free.
Children's Festival Sunday 20 March, 11am–5pm First Fleet Park, The Rocks Join in and celebrate our multicultural society, living in harmony with our children. There will be lots of fun activities and live performances.
High-rise harmony: Communication strategies to create a sense of community in your apartment building Thursday 22 March, 6pm–8pm Level 3, 307 Pitt Street, Sydney Learn how to improve your communication skills and find useful strategies for living smarter in strata. This workshop will help participants address and overcome common areas of conflict in strata schemes such as noise, parking and parties.
Sydney Town Hall tour Tuesday 8 March and Wednesday 9 March, midday–1pm Sydney Town Hall, 483 George Street, Sydney Sydney Town Hall is one of Sydney's most loved buildings and a favourite meeting place in the heat of the city. Join a free guided tour with the Sydney Town Hall curator and see spaces the public don't usually get to see.
Aboriginal Heritage tour Tuesday 15 March, 2pm–4pm Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney Uncover the Royal Botanic Gardens' rich Aboriginal heritage, experience traditional music, dance, artefacts and taste bush foods.
Auburn Gallipoli Mosque Tour Tuesday 29 March, 2pm-4pm Auburn Gallipoli Mosque Join this unique tour and learn about the Gallipoli Mosque's history, stunning architectural features and traditions.
